L.J. Peretti Company, Inc. is established.

Operated by Swiss immigrant Libero Peretti, the cigar store is taken over by his son, Libero, in 1921. He subsequently opens five more stores in the city, including one at 2 1/2 Park Square, the only one still in operation.
